Community Dialogues on Trafficking in Persons – Kigoma Region

πŸ“ Buhigwe DC & Kigoma MC, Kigoma Region
πŸ“… April 23rd – 30th, 2025

WoteSawa, in partnership with the Anti-Trafficking Secretariat and IOM-Tanzania, will be conducting a series of community dialogues and awareness sessions on Trafficking in Persons (TiP) in Buhigwe District and Kigoma Municipality. These sessions aim to address the growing vulnerability of women and children in the region, which serves as both a destination and transit point for human trafficking.

The initiative seeks to increase public awareness on human trafficking and its effects, strengthen community-based child protection efforts, inform key stakeholders on current TiP trends, and collaboratively develop action plans to combat trafficking. Target participants include local government officials, social welfare officers, immigration and police officers, community leaders, transport representatives, and members of the public.

Through presentations, discussions, Q&A sessions, and educative film screenings, WoteSawa aims to foster informed communities and promote a coordinated response to human trafficking in Kigoma.
